Diagnostics of viral hemorrhagic fevers and SARS
The Central Diagnostic Unit offers assistance to hospitals, medical practioners and laboratories worldwide in cases of suspected Viral Hemorrhagic Fever or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Samples sent for examination must comply with international regulations for the transportation of hazardous material.

Diagnostics of inherited fever syndromes
A number of inherited disorders causing recurrent fever episodes have been included in the diagnostic repertoire:

  • Familial Mediterranean Fever [FMF]
  • Hyper-IgD and periodic fever syndrome [HIDS]
  • TNF-receptor-associated periodic fever [TRAPS, Hibernian fever]
  • Familial cold urticaria [FCU]
  • Muckle-Wells syndrome [MWS]
  • CINCA syndrome, PAPA syndrome
  • Familial recurrent arthritis [FRA]
