ABOUT THE LIBRARY
The library exists since the Bernhard- Nocht Institute was founded in
the year 1900. It is the oldest and largest special library for tropical
medicine in Germany.
Its collections on Tropical medicine, Parasitology, Immunology, Virology
and Molecular Biology contain currently almost 43.000 books, 48.000 printed
matters and/or special issues as well as 160 current journals (including
38 e-journals).
The most important periodicals - series as well as the newest monographies
- are exposed and easy at hand of the users. Four internet working places
are available to access external databases.
Special literature which is not available in the library will be loaned
for the Institute´s staff from other Hamburg libraries or from abroad.
