Overview

The clinical virology laboratory investigates the molecular epidemiology and pathogenesis of rodent-borne (robo) viruses and mosquito-borne (mobo) viruses with projects in three areas:

  1. Characterization of the L protein of highly pathogenic New World hantaviruses
  2. The German arbovirus surveillance program
  3. Reassortant formation of mosquito-borne orthobunyaviruses endemic in Germany and the influence on vector range
